The therapeutic areas with the deepest bench
- Oncology — established referral networks through major urban cancer centers, with investigators experienced on multi-arm and biomarker-stratified protocols.
- Infectious disease — public health infrastructure built for high patient volume and rapid diagnostic turnaround.
- Vaccines — prior experience with large-scale, population-level vaccine trials and the cold-chain logistics they require.
What "site readiness" actually means
Readiness here means three things at once: ICH-GCP certification for the site and its investigators, accreditation current at the time of feasibility, and a track record with sponsors of a comparable size and protocol complexity — not just physical capacity to see patients.
Matching therapeutic area to site experience
A site strong in oncology is not automatically the right fit for a vaccine study, even in the same city — ask for therapeutic-area-specific site experience during feasibility, not a general capability statement.
